Cary Memorial Building
What's Happening at Cary?
The renovations are proceeding on schedule. You may have seen something odd happening recently, as they pumped concrete up through a high window to pour the new floor in the attic that will house all the new air handling equipment, like large blower fans.
We'll bring you more images as the work continues.
The Cary Memorial Building is a historic structure located in Lexington Center at 1605 Massachusetts Avenue. The building will be under renovation starting July of 2014 with anticipated opening in the Fall of 2015.
At the March, 2014 Annual Town Meeting funds were appropriated to begin renovations to the Cary Memorial Building. The presentation to Town Meeting outlines the entire scope of work to be done on the historic building. Nauset Construction Company has been hired to do the work, and Town Facilities Engineer, Sergio DeMango will serve as Project Manager. The project is anticipated to take 15 months to complete. The front circle and sidewalk modification will take place after Patriot's Day 2015.
